This kit allows you to create a beautiful and meaningful keepsake using a faux Kintsugi craft that we have concocted. Kintsugi (golden joinery), also known as Kintsukuroi (golden repair), is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. Employing the philosophy of Wabi Sabi, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise. It embraces the flawed and imperfect instead of hiding or discarding it. Our technique employs the same philosophy but without the dangerous lacquers. We will instead use a readily available glue and metallic gold pigment. You will have the opportunity to examine past hurts and heartbreaks as you break the handmade ceramic heart, later taking the pieces and reassembling them into a work of art that displays the pain you may have endured as well as the strength needed to keep moving forward. Our scars and wounds make us the beautiful, rich and full human beings that we are. This is a very powerful process, and a lot of emotion can come up, so be sure to keep a journal or paper close by to record your observations. We have included enough glue and pigment for you to repair another broken item you may have. This would also be a good time to enjoy a cup of our home blended Love Tea, included in the kit. We have also included a second Japanese craft: Origami. There are several sheets of two-sided heart paper, and instructions for making several adorable folded hearts which can be used as Valentines, for place card holders, or to show off a photo or something else you want to have close to your heart. The kit also contains the stone and Divine You card of the month.
